ExultPSP is a port of Exult v1.2 (http://exult.sourceforge.net) which is a framework that allows you to play one of the greatest CRPGs of all time, Ultima VII. It requires you to have the original game(s), Black Gate/Forge of Virtue and/or Serpent Isle/Silver Seed, as it recreates Ultima VII by using the original graphics and data files. ExultPSP does not include these for legal reasons. Please do not ask me for them.

I am so glad to see this place back in business. So, uhh, any chance we’ll see this a PSP 1000? :)

    If not android works too.

      Hi Cobalt!

      There’s always a chance :)

Unfortunately, I don’t know that I can get around to it anytime soon. I will keep it in mind, however.

Interesting news with the PS3 being blown open security wise – the PSP keys were found, and quite soon we’ll be able to sign PSP packages so that they’ll run on any psp, regardless of firmware. It might be incentive enough to put together another proper release for the folks with 1000′s. You *really* ought to get a 2000 or 3000 though. That extra memory really helps (the directional pad is so much better on the newer models too)

As for an Android port, I think someone has started this already (?)

I will work on the 2000 thing. Actually I came pretty close a few months ago but had some unexpected expenses. The irony is that I do tech support for Ipod and IOS devices, but my bread and butter comes from the PSP and the Android. :-)

Will this work with the PSP GO?

      Not without CFW, at least.

Got it working nearly perfectly with Half Byte Loader. Couldn’t figure out how to install custom firmware on the device. Still need to save frequently as it has frozen a few times with playing about an hour and if I travel a large distance – Cove to Paws. Thanks. Wonderful peace of work!

          That is excellent! :)

Your issues now make me wonder if HBL allows an app all of the extra ram available to the newer psp models (64meg), the way CFW does…

Yeah, after testing with my psp go I’m pretty sure that Half-Byte loader allows the full 64 mb of ram to be used.

Just kinda bored today and looking around. Do you think we’ll ever see release of exult portable based on 1.4.9?

It was always my intention to update when the Exult gang did – but time is an issue these days and interest among the PSP crowd is probably low, especially since the PSP2 is on the radar :)

I should get around to it eventually, is the best I can offer at the moment…

        Whoa, the site is back!

Been a LONG-TIME fan of your project, since it first came out <3

Please, please do update your port to at least ver. 1.4 so I can use all the unofficial packs/mods with it [i.e. keyring mod]. I would simply adore it if you could.

To be perfectly frank with you, I fell in love with the Ultima series becuase of your PSP port. I have never played the game back in its time, but its story, writing and atmosphere has gotten to me like no other game. So please, there's lots of people who would still love the idea of an updated port :) I've been doing my love, spreading the love on various PSP forums myself.

Once again, I am beyond glad for what you've done already, but please – do not forsake your software yet.

All the best and best regards,
        Jinx

PS. sorry for the double post.

Hello. Just to let You know, I have run Exult on a PSP 1000. I know that it says somewhere that it can not be run on Phats, but somehow I did it. I have a PSP 1000 and a PSP 2000 and just switch the same Memory Stick between them. I use the Time Machine and have CFW 5.00 M33-4 on both PSPs.

Swarozyc, it is going to crash sooner or later; the newest version of ExultPSP crashes on Fats very frequently. The previous version could run for about 20-30 minutes (if you didn’t travel too much) and you had to reboot in order to clear the memory once in a while.
